At the inaugural , a global demonstration centered in Washington, D.C., a special edition of the Wick Poetry Center's Traveling Stanzas titled Science Stanzas will provide an opportunity for participants to discover the intersection of expressive writing and scientific inquiry.
Â鶹ӰԺ’s 23rd annual FlashFest will host rap duo Rae Sremmurd and pop artist Sammy Adams on April 20.
Hosted by the Â鶹ӰԺ State’s Undergraduate Student Government, FlashFest will take place at two locations on the Â鶹ӰԺ Campus. The first part of the show will begin at 5 p.m. on the Student Green, and the lineup includes local band Chil Rock Band and Â鶹ӰԺ resident DJ Kyle Conley. This show will be free and open to the public, weather permitting.
Â鶹ӰԺ Interhall Council will host Â鶹ӰԺ students, faculty, staff and their families for Sibs and Kids Weekend on April 21-23.
This year’s theme is Cirque du Sib, featuring events and activities inspired by the circus and gymnastics. Activities include inflatables in the Student Recreation and Wellness Center, a science show presented by the Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society, Bingo and many more events.

Weighing in at barely 100 pounds, Brooke Mullins summoned every ounce of strength she had, and even more she didn’t. Her muscles were shaking; her mind – exhausted. The Â鶹ӰԺ junior had one last shot at overcoming the most grueling portion of a physical exam. If she could pass it, Mullins would follow in her father and brother’s footsteps as a certified volunteer firefighter.
It all comes down to a fraction of a second. Who can push off the block first? Who can jump the highest? Who will cross the finish line ahead of everyone else? In the end, speed is the ultimate winner – it can separate the good from the great.
Â鶹ӰԺ Student Center Programming, part of the Center for Student Involvement, hosted the 13th annual Rock the Runway on March 4.
Â鶹ӰԺ junior won the all-around title with a 39.500 to lead the Golden Flashes at the 2017 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Gymnastics Championships held March 18 at the Stroh Center in Bowling Green, Ohio. Â鶹ӰԺ State posted a 194.850 team score to finish sixth.
The Â鶹ӰԺ men’s basketball team (22-13) won the 2017 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championship, defeating the top-seeded Akron Zips (26-8) by a score of 70-65 at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.
