The �鶹ӰԺ Museum celebrated the opening of two new fashion collection exhibits, one of which honors the �鶹ӰԺ State School of Fashion’s founders and another the style of Hollywood legend Katharine Hepburn. During the celebration, retiring museum director Sarah Rogers was honored, and incoming director Sarah Spinner Liska, Ph.D., was introduced.

In its 2024 Best Colleges analysis of more than 700 four-year colleges, Money ranked �鶹ӰԺ State as the most affordable college in Ohio. 

Former �鶹ӰԺ men's golf standout will need to update his resume to read "two-time Olympian", as the Listowel, Ontario native has been nominated to compete at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

It was a time to celebrate with victories by Flying Flashes team 52 Peyton Turner and Alyssa Sheehan, who won first-place Intercollegiate Class in the 2024 Air Race Classic and a second �鶹ӰԺ State team that finished in the top 10.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg visited �鶹ӰԺ touring the College of Aeronautics and Engineering, and telling students that “the future of aviation leadership is in your hands.”

After a national search, the �鶹ӰԺ Museum is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Sarah Spinner Liska as its new director, effective July 1, 2024.

�鶹ӰԺ earned first-place honors in the annual Campus Race to Zero Waste, a nationwide college campus recycling competition.

�鶹ӰԺ's LGBTQ+ Center is celebrating Pride Month by boosting activities statewide, collaborating with local events, hosting a walking group and planning for a fabulous Fall Semester. 

In 2020, �鶹ӰԺ President Todd Diacon announced to a group of high school juniors and their families that �鶹ӰԺ State would cover four years of tuition costs and one year of room and board. Now, for the LeBron James Family Foundation’s first I PROMISE class, the hard work these students had put in since third grade is paying off. 

�鶹ӰԺ's Center for Student Involvement has more than 350 clubs and organizations for students. Dedicated to providing a great experience for all students, the center provides leadership development opportunities that foster student engagement.  

Hands-on experiences while studying healthcare design and emerging technology at �鶹ӰԺ State created a unique, in-demand career path for 2023 graduate Hamid Estejab.

Drawn to healthcare as a child, Athalia James pursued that passion all the way to a fulfilling career in nursing. 

Julianne Agnone, ’21, is doing what she loves — teaching. But these days, it’s not only her students making the grade. Agnone, who teaches math to sixth graders at Lake Elementary, was recently named Lake Local’s Rookie Teacher of the Year and joins newcomer teachers from Stark County’s 17 public school districts as part of the Stark County Educational Service Center’s Education All-Star Team.

�鶹ӰԺ State Ph.D. candidates Beau Shaniuk and Dana Oleskiewicz provide a historical context for the transgender experience and discuss the challenges the community faces in light of the increasing number of anti-trans bills being introduced across the country.

The environment is something that many people take for granted. But it affects us all. Some recent �鶹ӰԺ students spent the semester putting environmental issues front and center.

Every spring and fall millions of birds migrate through Northeast Ohio on their way to or from their breeding grounds. With their song and bright colors, birds help brighten our campus after a long winter.  

A group of �鶹ӰԺ professors recently returned from a visit to the commemoration of the Gwangju Uprising at Chonnam National University in Gwangju, South Korea, feeling inspired for the meaningful connections they made to the May 4, 1970, shootings at �鶹ӰԺ State.

In late March, groups of Indian students on campus celebrated the popular and significant Hindu festival of Holi. 

�鶹ӰԺ Provost and Senior Vice President Melody Tankersley, Ph.D., and Vice President for Global Education Marcello Fantoni joined officials from Dewey International University in Battambang, Cambodia, to celebrate a new partnership expected to bring Cambodian students to �鶹ӰԺ State.

Speaking out against government corruption and ethnic killings in his home country of Ethiopia made Medhin Dollebo, Ph.D., the target of constant threats and harassment. 

Melissa Fenn, senior advisor II in the College of Nursing, was recently awarded the university's inaugural Distinguished Advisor Award by University Advising and the �鶹ӰԺ Academic Advising Support and Advising Association (KASADA).

A sea of silk and satin, leather and lace floated down the runway as �鶹ӰԺ’s Annual Fashion Show debuted to an enthusiastic crowd filling the �鶹ӰԺ Student Center Ballroom Thursday night.

All eyes have been on Northeast Ohio the past several weeks as the �鶹ӰԺ and The University of Akron’s men’s and women’s basketball teams battled it out for the MAC championship title. It wasn’t always such a bitter rivalry between these two Northeast Ohio legends, however. Just look at this old footage we found of Flash and Zippy bonding back in the day.

The �鶹ӰԺ State women’s basketball team will play in the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2002. Champions do so much on their own, just look at the stats. But this championship team is supported by its members, its coaches and the �鶹ӰԺ State Community.

The Golden Flashes have made it to the NCAA tournament during a moment when women’s basketball is in the prime spotlight.
