Â鶹ӰԺ, in response to a request from Intel^®, will lead a network that includes 13 other Ohio higher education institutions now poised to prepare the workforce to make the small electronic devices that play a large role in our everyday lives.

Â鶹ӰԺ launched the public phase of its $350 million Forever Brighter comprehensive fundraising campaign in October 2021, and during the first year of the public campaign, a record-breaking $77.6 million was raised. This philanthropic feat was made possible with the support of 10,687 donors, 3,753 of whom made a gift to Â鶹ӰԺ State for the first time.

For a third consecutive year, Â鶹ӰԺ has been selected as one the nation’s top universities for LGBTQ+ students for creating a safe, welcoming environment for students, faculty and staff, according to Campus Pride, a leading resource for LGBTQ+ leadership development, diversity inclusion and advocacy within higher education.

The Â鶹ӰԺ alumni family will grow by more than 1,200 new graduates as the university holds its summer commencement ceremonies. The accomplishments of the Summer Class of 2022 will be recognized with in-person, outdoor commencement ceremonies and a virtual commencement ceremony on Aug. 20.

Â鶹ӰԺ is excited to be a part of the Ohio College Comeback Compact, an innovative program to help students who left college with debt but without a degree to continue their education. Â鶹ӰԺ State is collaborating with seven public colleges and universities in Northeast Ohio to reach out to these students and provide a path back to higher education while reducing or eliminating their debt.

Alvacir Wesley Kalatai Alberti of Imbituva, Brazil, is the first student to graduate from the American Academy, a dual-enrollment program offered jointly at Â鶹ӰԺ State and the Pontifical Catholic University of Parana, located in Curitiba, Parana, Brazil.

The designation recognizes schools that show a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation’s military.

When recent Undergraduate Student Government (USG) President Chazzlyn Jackson started her journey at Â鶹ӰԺ in 2018, she had planned to major in fashion until a mentor with Kupita/Transiciones (K/T) cultural orientation program helped her tap into her leadership abilities and passion for social justice issues. The advice played a pivotal role for Jackson, who stepped into leadership roles and anti-racism advocacy and has not looked back.

During Â鶹ӰԺ State’s spring 2022 commencement on May 14, Jameson Payne will earn his bachelor’s degree in integrative studies with concentrations in physics and political science. Benjamin Wales-McGrath will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in cellular and molecular biology at the age of 18.

Although Â鶹ӰԺ State alumna and current graduate student Lydia Lisowsky has never visited Ukraine, she feels a deep sense of obligation and responsibility to help those who have been injured in the war. The Â鶹ӰԺ State community helped Lisowsky pack and donate medical supplies on the Â鶹ӰԺ Campus and in the larger Â鶹ӰԺ community to send to Ukraine.
