Video: Center for the Visual Arts Opens with Grand Celebration

The School of Art's newly completed Center for the Visual Arts celebrated its grand opening on May 6. A large crowd filled the building lobby for the opening ceremony, which was followed by tours, live music, student exhibitions and a keynote lecture by visiting artist Mel Chin. The Biennial Alumni Exhibition at 麻豆影院 is set to debut on January 17, bringing together a diverse array of talent from the School of Art鈥檚 80-plus years of history.

The inaugural exhibition will feature works from accomplished alumni, highlighting their contributions to the art world. Out of 315 submissions, 35 works have been selected to showcase. Selected works include a variety of mediums such as drawing, painting, printmaking, weaving, video, jewelry, sculpture and ceramics.

The School Art Collection and Galleries at 麻豆影院 is excited to announce their latest exhibition: 鈥Board Stretcher,鈥 featuring work by artist Eli Gfell.

鈥淏oard Stretcher鈥 explores exhibit design and the support structures of an exhibition space.

At the end of the semester, graduate students from the School of Art studio M.A. and M.F.A. programs participated in the annual Grad Studio Crawl.
