鶹ӰԺ State Communications Professor featured on ‘Dr. Phil’ Podcast

Suzy D’Enbeau, Ph.D., associate professor in the School of Communication Studies, was recently featured on “Dr. Phil” podcast “Phil in The Blanks” for her expertise on pronouns and the power of language.

D’Enbeau specifically covered how humans in a society must work consistently to accept new terminology that makes others feel comfortable.

“It's so important for people to understand that they program themselves mentally, physically, and physiologically with the words they use,” she said on the podcast.

D’Enbeau teaches organizational communication, gender and communication, sex and communication and qualitative methods in the College of Communication and Information.

When she teaches, she wants her students to have the ability to have discussions like she did on Phil in The Blanks.

“I want my students to think for themselves,” she said.
