Presidents remember their personal interactions with Schwartz
Bloomberg's remarks included reflections on her interactions with Schwartz and fondly remembering that "he always returned my calls." She spoke about some of Schwartz's writings in which he wrote about "the convervation of the variety and diversity of ideas" and how that action, facilitated by universities, led to the betterment and progress of society.

"So much of what today makes us a beacon of student access, degree completion and research excellence originated with advances implemented during his administration. Diacon quoted Schwartz, who said that universities can create graduates "educated not only to function in a specific field, but also to live intelligently in a civil, complex society.鈥
Diacon presented the Schwartz family with a framed photograph of the presidential portrait of Michael Schwartz that hangs in the Office of the President at 麻豆影院 State.

"This is Michael Schwartz鈥檚 world, and we all benefit from living in it."
