The CARES Center, which stands for Crisis, Advocacy, Resources, Education, and Support, has been serving as a vital resource hub for students facing various challenges since its inception in April 2021.

The League of Women Voters of Ohio made �鶹ӰԺ State the final stop on their tour of more than 20 Ohio colleges and universities. The group, including Eco the puppy, worked to get students registered to vote in advance of the Oct. 7 registration deadline. 

Sponsored by the �鶹ӰԺ State Alumni Association, the Alumni Awards are the university’s most prestigious alumni honors. The 2024 Alumni Award recipients include seven alumni, two recent graduates, one staff member and one current student.

Students, faculty, staff, and administrators are encouraged to take the “Our Voices Count” Engagement and Well-Being Survey by the Oct. 20 deadline.

Unsure of what he wanted to do in life when he first came to �鶹ӰԺ, it was the hands-on learning experiences he had in his degree program that led Dexter Shreve to becoming a business owner.

A �鶹ӰԺ State alumnus who has been visiting Ohio colleges and universities in a pre-election tour by the League of Women Voters of Ohio says he's excited to see that student voters are interested and engaged in the election process. 

Fifty years ago, �鶹ӰԺ Distinguished Professor Owen Lovejoy, Ph.D., was among the very first researchers to study the remains of the famous “Lucy” (Australopithecus afarensis), a 3-million-year-old fossil that had recently been discovered by paleoanthropologist Donald Johanson in Hadar, Ethiopia.

�鶹ӰԺ has entered into an agreement with the Turkmenistan Ministry of Education to begin exploring the possibility of creating an educational partnership with several national institutes of higher learning there. The effort is part of �鶹ӰԺ State’s ongoing commitment to using education to foster global understanding and peace in a divided world.

As part of �鶹ӰԺ State's �鶹ӰԺ State Votes initiative, Flashes across campus are stepping up to help make sure that students are registered to vote, well informed and motivated to cast their ballots in November. 

For Taylor Pierce, her first experience in �鶹ӰԺ State’s Columbus Program in State Issues turned out to be more than most people would expect. She spontaneously entered and won a contest. She met Ohio’s governor and lieutenant governor. And, she considered a new career path. Not bad for a few weeks in a new city.

Every year, mid-September to mid-October marks Hispanic Heritage Month. �鶹ӰԺ collaborations commemorate the month-long celebration and Hispanic culture, kicking off the celebration was "Voices & Rhythms: A Night of Discussion and Dance."

Attracted by the flexibility to choose her classes and the reputation of �鶹ӰԺ State's visual communication design program, Alizee Potrel embarked on a journey that would broaden her personal and professional horizons.

�鶹ӰԺ made a splash in professional golf last weekend, with three alumni – Corey Conners, Mackenzie Hughes, and Taylor Pendrith – representing the International team at the recent Presidents Cup in Montreal. 

Students in �鶹ӰԺ State's Long Term Care Administration program met with local senior citizens to create a book that shared their life stories. 

It took three years, a move from California to Ohio, and several other bumps in the road. Still, recent �鶹ӰԺ graduate Vincent AhSam-Kreiter has achieved his goals of earning a bachelor’s degree, becoming a registered nurse and being a newly commissioned officer in the U.S. Air Force.

Students across campus anticipate voting for the first time in a presidential election, prompting a mix of feelings ranging from excitement to anxiety.
