Steve Harvey, producer, actor, author and former �鶹ӰԺ student, is paying it forward by awarding eight of �鶹ӰԺ State’s incoming freshmen with scholarships that will cover the total cost of attendance for each student.

"Without this generous scholarship, I would have lost my seat in the KSUA nursing program."

FedEx Corp. has pledged $5 million, in addition to $1.5 million already given, in support of an aeronautics academic center that will be located at the �鶹ӰԺ Airport. The new 17,800-square-foot building will be named the FedEx Aeronautics Academic Center.

At a ceremony held April 11, 2019, nearly 50 years after his own graduation, John Elliot, ’70, and his wife, Fonda, were present as the architecture and environmental design building was officially named “The John Elliot Center for Architecture and Environmental Design.”

�鶹ӰԺ’s Giving Tuesday 2018 broke the million-dollar mark for the second year in a row.

John and Fonda Elliot have become the largest donors in �鶹ӰԺ’s history, providing the largest total outright gift of $10 million as well as a $2 million planned gift, benefiting the College of Architecture and Environmental Design.

�鶹ӰԺ professor of art, Jennifer Jones, hopes to engage and inspire a community and �鶹ӰԺ State students though planned murals within The Summit County Department of Job and Family Services building in Akron.

Art has the power to change the world. �鶹ӰԺ faculty member Chris Coles aspires to use the arts to make a powerful impact on social injustice and violence in our communities.

“With the support of the Roe Green Foundation, the university will continue to serve Roe’s vision and honor her legacy with creative excellence,” said John Crawford-Spinelli, dean of the College of the Arts at �鶹ӰԺ State.

Thanks to the benevolence of others, friends and family can now have a seat on a swing beside Rockwell Hall, and quietly reflect on fallen �鶹ӰԺ State fashion major, Taylor Pifer, who had a tremendous impact on their lives.
