Leslie Srodek-Johnson, ’01, a �鶹ӰԺ journalism graduate, mother of two and lead decorator and baker at Stan’s Northfield Bakery, received the call of a lifetime in December 2018. It was from the Food Network asking her to be a part of the “Christmas Cookie Challenge.”

A small class assignment in college led to an off-Broadway debut for �鶹ӰԺ musical theatre alumnus Scott Miesse, ’15, who will be premiering his self-written play titled “Abnormal” in January 2020.

As the champagne flowed Oct. 15 in the clubhouse of the National League Champion Washington Nationals, there was a �鶹ӰԺ connection in the middle of the frenzy that capped the team’s first trip to the World Series.

�鶹ӰԺ has made impressive moves in the rankings in the newly released 2020 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges list. �鶹ӰԺ State has climbed three spots, a 3% increase, on the Top Public Schools list. �鶹ӰԺ State is the only Northeast Ohio institution on the Top Public Schools list. 

Last year, �鶹ӰԺ celebrated 100 years of Homecoming. This year, the university starts the next century of �鶹ӰԺ State Homecoming celebrations with a new president leading the institution.

A three-day trip is underway for �鶹ӰԺ students to work with community leaders on finding new and creative ways to connect neighborhoods throughout Erie to its Bayfront, according to YourErie.com

College of Arts and Sciences professor says that understanding how your child copes with anxiety is key to helping them with back-to-school nerves. 

Working in cooperation with the  (LAU), 20 interior design students – 10 from �鶹ӰԺ's College of Architecture and Environmental Design and 10 from LAU in Beirut – spent nine days in New York City, the design capital of North America, for a workshop.

Student activism and giving voice to students will be the topics of two keynote speakers who are headlining the upcoming 2019 Educators Summit at �鶹ӰԺ titled “May 4, 1970 Then & Now: Voices for Change."

As Todd Diacon, Ph.D., steps into his new role as �鶹ӰԺ’s 13th president, his schedule for his first day includes an early workout at the Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center, a breakfast with community leaders at the �鶹ӰԺ Hotel and Conference Center and a luncheon on campus with student leaders.
