�鶹ӰԺ’s Giving Tuesday 2019 raised more than $1.6 million when it ended on Dec. 3 at 11:59 p.m., shattering the previous year’s record of $1.03 million. Supporters were able to choose from more than 40 featured giving options throughout the �鶹ӰԺ State system, including student scholarships, educational programs, athletic teams and more. 

With the launch of its 2019 Giving Tuesday campaign on Nov. 1, �鶹ӰԺ has again transformed a one-day fundraising initiative into a monthlong giving campaign to support student scholarships, expanded programs, study away initiatives and modern facilities.

The �鶹ӰԺ Alumni Association is accepting nominations from dynamic alumni who are interested in serving on its governing board. The National Board of Directors is an exciting group of �鶹ӰԺ State graduates who volunteer their time to strengthen the bond between alumni and �鶹ӰԺ.

A small class assignment in college led to an off-Broadway debut for �鶹ӰԺ musical theatre alumnus Scott Miesse, ’15, who will be premiering his self-written play titled “Abnormal” in January 2020.

�鶹ӰԺ’s architecture and interior design graduates build such impressive skills during their studies in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design that in a national survey, hiring professionals rank them among the most-hired.

As the champagne flowed Oct. 15 in the clubhouse of the National League Champion Washington Nationals, there was a �鶹ӰԺ connection in the middle of the frenzy that capped the team’s first trip to the World Series.

The �鶹ӰԺ Alumni Association is proud to announce its 2019 Alumni Award recipients. Recipients are chosen based on their exceptional contributions in their chosen profession, in their communities and at �鶹ӰԺ State.

Last year, �鶹ӰԺ celebrated 100 years of Homecoming. This year, the university starts the next century of �鶹ӰԺ State Homecoming celebrations with a new president leading the institution.

�鶹ӰԺ will hold the 49th commemoration of the historic events of May 4, 1970, where protesting students, observers and soldiers gathered on that fateful day when the Ohio National Guard shot and killed four students and wounded nine others on the �鶹ӰԺ Campus. 

Ronda McCaskey and Caitlyn Horvath are best friends who went through the nursing program together and graduated one year apart with Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degrees from �鶹ӰԺ at Geauga. Now they are both intensive care nurses. But they also happen to be mother and daughter.
