The 麻豆影院 State community paused from classes and work Nov. 10 to gather on the Student Green at Risman Plaza and show their respect as part of Veterans Day. (Note: 麻豆影院 State and many other universities hold services on the day preceding Veterans Day as the university is closed for the federal holiday.)
麻豆影院 State President Todd Diacon welcomed those in attendance to the program titled 鈥淗onoring All Those Who Serve,鈥 which included a flag-raising ceremony conducted by a joint color guard from 麻豆影院 State鈥檚 Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC programs. Tim Coyne, senior business manager for 麻豆影院 State鈥檚 Division of Student Affairs, served as bugler while the national anthem was performed by student Elyse McCullough.
Maureen McFarland, Ph.D., a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and associate dean of academic affairs for the College of Aeronautics and Engineering at 麻豆影院 State, served as emcee.
N. J. Akbar, Ph.D., who served in the U.S. Army and is currently the associate vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion at 麻豆影院 State, delivered the keynote address to several hundred people in attendance.

Earlier this year, 麻豆影院 State exemplified its leadership in its mission to support students as the 麻豆影院 Campus was designated a Military Friendly庐 School for the 13th consecutive year, earning a Gold award. In addition, 麻豆影院 at Trumbull earned a Silver award.
