The �鶹ӰԺ State community paused from classes and work Nov. 10 to gather on the Student Green at Risman Plaza and show their respect as part of Veterans Day. (Note: �鶹ӰԺ State and many other universities hold services on the day preceding Veterans Day as the university is closed for the federal holiday.)

�鶹ӰԺ State President Todd Diacon welcomed those in attendance to the program titled “Honoring All Those Who Serve,” which included a flag-raising ceremony conducted by a joint color guard from �鶹ӰԺ State’s Army ROTC and Air Force ROTC programs. Tim Coyne, senior business manager for �鶹ӰԺ State’s Division of Student Affairs, served as bugler while the national anthem was performed by student Elyse McCullough. 

Maureen McFarland, Ph.D., a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and associate dean of academic affairs for the College of Aeronautics and Engineering at �鶹ӰԺ State, served as emcee. 

N. J. Akbar, Ph.D., who served in the U.S. Army and is currently the associate vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion at �鶹ӰԺ State, delivered the keynote address to several hundred people in attendance.
