The student can easily email you a list of your authorizations. Ask your student to go to KSUview, and select your name from the list of designees. The student then selects the authorization page and clicks on the icon Send Email to Designee. An email will be generated to you with the list of items your student has authorized you to see.

KSUview Student Information

Why can I not see what I expected to see on the list in KSUview?

What do I have to do to be able to contact and ask questions to someone at Â鶹ӰԺ about my student’s information in KSUview?

KSUview is a product that is controlled by the student as to who they identify to view information and what information a designee can view. VIEW is the key word. To be able to ask questions about this information that you can view with an official at Â鶹ӰԺ, your student needs to give you FERPA release authorization.

How does a student give me FERPA release authorization so that I can contact and discuss my student’s information with an university official?

A student can easily grant a person FERPA release authorization in FlashLine. The link to grant FERPA release authorization can be found in FlashLine within Student/Resources/Requests and Authorizations.

KSUview and FlashLine

My student told me I was going to get a FlashLine account. What is it and why do I want it?

People who have a closer relationship to the student (Parent, guardian, spouse, partner) and to Â鶹ӰԺ will gain access to our university portal called FlashLine. With access to FlashLine, you will not only be able to access the information your student authorized through KSUview, but you will also receive university information that, through research, people have expressed interest in seeing.

How long does it take to get FlashLine access?

While access to KSUview is immediate upon the student's identification and authorization, access to FlashLine is a longer process. Most people will receive their FlashLine credentials in 24-48 hours.

I am a designee, so why do I have a Â鶹ӰԺ ID Number?

You have a Â鶹ӰԺ State ID Number because you have also been granted access to FlashLine, Â鶹ӰԺ's portal. You need to have an identification number in order to create your default password in FlashLine.

In FlashLine, am I able to view my student's checklist? What and where is it?

The Student Checklist is a list of items for a student who has identified you as a designee. The student's name is displayed immediately above the first item in the list. The checklist is available to incoming admitted students as well as continuing students. This is a dynamic list that shows the status of the items that need to be completed for a successful start to the semester. As a designee, you cannot take any action on these items but can consult with your student about the actions that need to be taken. The checklist can be found by selecting 'My Lists' in the top icon bar in FlashLine.

I have access to FlashLine and I am a designee for more than one student that has a Student Checklist. How can I see each of the checklists?

If you are a designee to more than one student with a Student Checklist, you will be able to select the student whose list you wish to view after you select 'My Lists' in the top icon bar in FlashLine and then select Student Checklist Proxy.
