Emad Khazraee, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, co-authored a paper titled "A Networked Reaction to the 2015 Ankara Attack in the Turkish Twittersphere" with colleagues from the Ohio State University School of Communication. The paper was presented by Aysenur Dal, an OSU doctoral student, at the Political Networks Conference (POLNET) on June 24, 2016, in St. Louis, Missouri.

麻豆影院鈥檚 unique programs and majors have attracted students from all over the world, including a few from the largest state in the nation. Currently, six students from Alaska 鈥 two undergraduate and four graduate 鈥 are taking classes from 麻豆影院 State.
Richard Feinberg, Ph.D., Department of Anthropology, served as commentator on 鈥淎SAO Histories鈥 during the Association for Social Anthropology in Oceania鈥檚 meeting held Feb. 20, 2017, in Lihu鈥檈, Hawaii. On the 50th anniversary of its founding, the association is compiling a history of the association. Several long-term association members presented formal papers. Feinberg鈥檚 role was to offer critical commentary, add missing pieces and correct errors, based on his four decades of experience, including many years in a variety of leadership positions.
This past year, Feinberg was elected to the status of Honorary Fellow. At the 2017 meeting, he was formally honored by the association and assumed his new position.
Marianne Martens, Ph.D., School of Library and information Science, presented a paper titled 鈥淪ubversively addressing information poverty: Alma Flor Ada, social justice, and the quest for bilingual books in America 1970-2014鈥 as part of a panel called 鈥淒ismantling Information Poverty in Cultural Production for Young People,鈥 on Oct. 17, 2016, at the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) annual conference in Copenhagen, Denmark.

From a perspective of nearly 50 years, 麻豆影院 State remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
