麻豆影院鈥檚 Computer Technology Endorsement Preparation program provides targeted education in computer technology education. This program offers career benefits for students looking to specialize in computer technology education.

This endorsement must be added to an existing teaching license and cannot be obtained independently as a separate licensure. You may work toward both a master鈥檚 degree and the endorsement by choosing the Computer Technology Endorsement Preparation concentration in the degree. If you already have a master鈥檚 degree in education or another appropriate field, you may be able to earn the endorsement with a 15 credit-hour program (see below).


Master's Degree with Computer/Technology Endorsement

The master鈥檚 degree in Educational Technology with the Computer/Technology Endorsement is earned by pursuing the master鈥檚 degree with the Computer Technology Endorsement Preparation Concentration and gaining the appropriate experience in the Practicum. Be sure to discuss the program with your advisor and fill out the program of study to include the right courses.

Computer Technology Endorsement-Only Program

If you already have both teaching certification and a master鈥檚 degree in education or another appropriate field (discuss this with the program coordinator), you can add the Computer/Technology Endorsement by taking a smaller number of courses (15 credit hours), including a practicum and portfolio. Adding the Endorsement to Your Teaching License

In order to add the Computer/Technology Endorsement (#111770) to your Resident Educator or Professional Ohio teaching license, you must complete the Computer Technology Endorsement coursework and pass the Ohio Assessment Exam (OAE) in Computer/Technology. The Computer/Technology assessment contains two subtests: I (test code: 016) and II (test code: 017). Candidates must take and pass both subtests to qualify for an Ohio license in this field. You may take one or both subtests at one assessment appointment. For the OAE information, please visit:

Upon successful completion of the endorsement coursework and OAE exam, students must complete the online Licensure Pre-Application found in the . For instructions on how to navigate the Licensure Pre-Application process, please visit the Vacca Office of Student Services webpage How to Apply for an Educator License. Pay special attention to the section on Add(ing) an Endorsement or Teaching Field to an existing license?.  You will need to upload a signed Plan of Study during this process unless you have already submitted one to the Office of Graduate Student Services (418 White Hall). Once you have successfully completed and submitted your Licensure Pre-Application, the online system will connect you directly with the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce鈥檚 online licensure system where you will complete the process and make payment.

Students without a master's degree may work toward both a master’s degree and the endorsement by applying to the , Computer Technology Endorsement Preparation concentration.

  • Evidence of valid four-year Resident Educator or five-year Professional State of Ohio teaching license (no longer required starting with spring 2025 admission term)

Prior to program completion, the candidate must demonstrate proficiencies in the following areas (including but not limited to): data literacy and analysis; use of research and assessment data; leadership and collaboration; utilizing and supporting appropriate technology for the discipline; and application of professional dispositions, laws and policies, codes of ethics and professional standards appropriate to their field of specialization.

Candidates seeking Ohio teaching licensure are required to pass specific requirements in order to apply for licensure from the Ohio Department of Education (ODE). Students must pass the Ohio Assessment Exam (OAE) to obtain this licensure.
