Internship Program

Women’s Center Internship Program

 

The Women's Center Internship Program is open to undergraduate and graduate-level students. The internship program will provide students with hands-on experience in a supportive environment and can be adjusted to meet their academic focus. Students will gain experience in social justice issues related to gender equity while working in teams with others.

 

Current Interns

 

Areas of Focus:

 

  • Social Media/Marketing Intern: This team will be responsible for creating flyers, creating content for newsletter, running our social media pages and increasing awareness of the Center, its events and various resources to the university community.
  • Events/Programming Intern: This team will assist with the creation and implementation of all Women's Center events including Feminist Friday, Where Do Black Women Go? and Elect Her, as well as celebrations such as Women's History Month, disAbility Awareness Month, etc.   
  • Director's Intern: This intern will work on special projects with the Director of our Center.

  • Serve as a voice for your community: Advocating for change, leading campus projects and providing student input
  • Build networking skills, technology skills, and social skills
  • Increase your knowledge of gender inequity
  • Explore organization and management skills: You will have the opportunity to work on a team and learn how to collaborate with others

 

Internship Eligibility Requirements:

 

Completion of  all elements of application process

Currently in good academic standing

Ability to attend intern training

Ability to commit to 10 hours per week, for the semester
