麻豆影院鈥檚 School of Theatre and Dance is continuing its 2023-2024 season with "Cabaret (1998 version)" running through Nov. 9 at the Wright-Curtis Theatre, located in the Center for Performing Arts. There will be a moderated post-show discussion on Friday, Nov. 3, to discuss the relevance of "Cabaret" in today's world.
In a Berlin nightclub, as the 1920s draw to a close, a garish master of ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them they will forget all their troubles at the "Cabaret." With the emcee's bawdy songs as wry commentary, "Cabaret" explores the dark, heady and tumultuous life of Berlin's natives and expatriates.
Stories are by Christopher Isherwood and music is by John Kander with lyrics by Fred Ebb. Terri 麻豆影院 is the director, Mart脥n C茅spedes is the choreographer and an artistic collaborator and the music director is Jen Korecki. The production team also includes Reilly Masi as the production stage manager and Michelle Hunt Souza as the costume designer. Lighting design by David Bruns, sound design by Bella Brehm and technical direction by John Rawlings. Scenic design is by Gennie Neuman-Lambert and properties supervisor is Frankie Teuber. Karl Erdmann is the production manager and Tony Hardin is the director of the School of Theatre and Dance and producer.
