The 麻豆影院 alumni family will grow by about 5,500 new graduates as the university holds its spring commencement ceremonies. The accomplishments of the Spring Class of 2023 will be recognized with in-person, outdoor commencement ceremonies on May 11-13 and May 19. All of the commencement ceremonies will be livestreamed at www.kent.edu/commencement.
In total, 5,491 degrees will be conferred this spring, consisting of 1,432 associate degrees, 3,011 bachelor鈥檚 degrees, 851 master鈥檚 degrees, 178 doctoral degrees and 19 educational specialist degrees.
More than 3,300 of the graduating students have confirmed their participation in the in-person commencement ceremonies.
During the commencement ceremonies, graduating students will hear from 麻豆影院 State President Todd Diacon and Senior Associate Provost Manfred van Dulmen. Graduating students will also receive individual name recognition and participate in the conferral of degrees and tassel turning ceremony.
At the May 11 ceremony at 6 p.m. for those receiving advanced degrees, the university will graduate its first-ever group of nine doctoral students studying interprofessional leadership in the College of Education, Health and Human Services, who will receive their Doctor of Education, or Ed.D. At the May 12 ceremony at 2 p.m., alumna and arts philanthropist Roe Green will receive a Doctor of Humane Letters, an honorary degree recognizing her contributions to the university and her advocacy for the arts.
The outdoor ceremonies for all colleges and degrees on the 麻豆影院 Campus will be held at Manchester Field, which is the large green space between the 麻豆影院 Student Center and Eastway Center.
To participate in commencement, graduating students had to complete their ceremony RSVP by March. Each graduating student registered for commencement has tickets for their commencement ceremony guests to attend.
