All this week, the �鶹ӰԺ �鶹ӰԺ Campus has offered a full slate of events in its 2023 Education Abroad Showcase, which serves as an introduction to the university’s education-abroad opportunities across the globe. Hosted by �鶹ӰԺ State’s Office of Global Education, the theme for this week’s events is “Discover Boundless Horizons: Explore, Learn and Thrive Globally!” 

More than 15 different presentations and activities have taken place this week, wrapping up with two events on Thursday, Sept. 21:

• Spill the Tea: Education Abroad Alumni Panel Florence: 5–5:45 p.m. General: 6-6:45 p.m. Room 133 Bowman Hall

and three events on Friday, Sept. 22:

• Study in Japan Information Session 11 a.m.–12 p.m. Room 207 Bowman Hall
• Japan Education Abroad Alumni Panel 12–1 p.m. Room 218 Bowman Hall
• Gilman Scholarship Writing 12:30–1:30 p.m. Room 207 Bowman Hall

Earlier in the week, attendees were able to check out an immersive display in the Blank Lab showcasing �鶹ӰԺ State’s education abroad experiences, grab coffee at the International Peace Coffee Stand, hear from returned Peace Corps volunteers and learn about the variety of international experiences available, including information on financial aid opportunities to help with the cost of education abroad.

Approximately 1,500 �鶹ӰԺ State students study abroad each year in more than 200 programs offered in over 60 countries. �鶹ӰԺ State’s Florence Campus is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. It’s the largest American program in Florence and hosts more than 800 students annually. In 2025, Paris will become the newest international �鶹ӰԺ State Campus after more than a decade of partnership with the Paris American Academy. �鶹ӰԺ State’s Kigali Summer Institute in Rwanda began in 2017 and offers students a firsthand experience studying reconciliation and learning from survivors and perpetrators of that country’s genocide in 1994 who now live side-by-side in reconciliation villages.

In 2022, �鶹ӰԺ State was the only U.S. university to receive the prestigious Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization, recognizing a top institution’s international experience.

Students experience the world on �鶹ӰԺ's U.S. campuses as well, studying alongside more than 1,600 international students from 101 countries around the globe. In addition, �鶹ӰԺ State student organizations sponsor many international-themed events throughout the year.
