For nearly 11 years, Alfreda Brown, �鶹ӰԺ’s vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion, has been a powerful voice for making sure no one in the university’s wide-reaching system is marginalized, discriminated against or left behind.

In the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, the United States would benefit from a public banking system, says Mark K. Cassell, �鶹ӰԺ professor of political science.

On May 21, �鶹ӰԺ State's College of Aeronautics and Engineering received approval from the university to restart flight operations, making May 22 the first day since mid-March that instructors or students have been permitted to fly due to COVID-19 restrictions. 

�鶹ӰԺ has been recognized by the (ACE) for the university’s creation of a “one-stop shop” COVID-19 website, call line and email address, including its telemedicine and telehealth information for students.

Patrick Tomaswick wants to be a police officer, but not just any member of law enforcement. He wants to be a �鶹ӰԺ police officer.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, students in  �鶹ӰԺ’s College of Nursing have been employed in hospitals throughout Northeast Ohio, where they have honed their skills and observed healthcare professionals on the front lines.

�鶹ӰԺ President Todd Diacon recently presented six �鶹ӰԺ State faculty members with the 2020 President’s Faculty Excellence Award, which recognizes exceptional performance that leads to the achievement of national or international recognition in the faculty member’s discipline.

The �鶹ӰԺ alumni family will grow by nearly 5,300 new graduates as the university holds its spring commencement. 

�鶹ӰԺ President Todd Diacon announced Thursday that Lamar R. Hylton, Ph.D., has been selected to serve as vice president for student affairs, effective May 1, 2020. In addition, Diacon has appointed Amoaba Gooden, Ph.D., as the interim vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion, effective June 1, 2020.
