Come join �鶹ӰԺ President Todd Diacon, �鶹ӰԺ Mayor Jerry Fiala and the Marching Golden Flashes as they celebrate the opening of the new public rink, �鶹ӰԺ Skates, on Dec. 2 at 5:30 p.m. with music, free giveaways and, of course, ice skating.

�鶹ӰԺ State’s Class of 2025 stands tall – more than 3,982 stories tall. Each of our new, first-year students offers a unique and engaging story.

This year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will include a choreographed jump rope routine from a member of �鶹ӰԺ State’s Class of 2025.

The �鶹ӰԺ and �鶹ӰԺ communities can head downtown to go ice skating starting Nov. 20, courtesy of �鶹ӰԺ Skates presented by AMETEK. This special attraction has been created through a partnership between the city of �鶹ӰԺ, the �鶹ӰԺ Hotel and Conference Center, the �鶹ӰԺ Area Chamber of Commerce, Main Street �鶹ӰԺ and �鶹ӰԺ State.

�鶹ӰԺ State’s Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Chapter earned seven national awards for the work done throughout the 2020-2021 academic year, including for first time in Chapter history, two Teahan Awards, the highest Chapter honors.

A recent town hall provided �鶹ӰԺ's students, staff and faculty the opportunity to discuss Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality -- topics which have frequently debated across the country.

Students at �鶹ӰԺ State Trumbull who are in need of food, personal items and clothing will now have more support from the university following Trumbull’s Care Closet official opening on Oct. 18. Trumbull’s Care Closet was created by the 2020-2021 Undergraduate Student Government (USG) and is set up as a fund that faculty, staff and the community can donate to. It’s goal is to provide necessities for students who can’t afford them.

National First-Generation College Celebration is on Nov. 8, and �鶹ӰԺ State is hosting a weeklong celebration filled with campus-wide activities and learning opportunities to recognize students who will be the first in their family to graduate with a four-year degree.

For senior mechatronics engineering major Delonte Goodman, the road to higher education was not the easiest. But as a high school student who caught the eye of NASA and can understand electrical and mechanical processes in everyday ATM transactions, he has bravely paved his way as a successful first-generation college student at �鶹ӰԺ.

Julia Hallgren didn’t know the student in front of her. She didn’t need to. “The student closed the door after they said they felt suicidal, (so) I knew I had to do something,” Hallgren said.
