While the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has experienced changes over the years, the upcoming 2024-25 FAFSA year will introduce significant changes for students and families. These changes may have implications for students and their ability to gain access to federal financial aid.

Distracted drivers in Ohio will be penalized starting Oct. 5.

The new Distracted Driving law makes it illegal to use or hold a cellphone or electronic device in your hand, lap or other parts of the body while driving on Ohio roads.

Juliana Buonaiuto, Undergraduate Student Government president, stated in her convocation speech this year that she got a lightning bolt tattoo during the first two weeks of her first year. A recent Pew Research Center survey revealed that 32% of Americans have a tattoo. Â鶹ӰԺ State Today went to some local authorities to see if those trends match the Â鶹ӰԺ State community.

October is Â鶹ӰԺ’s Mental Health Awareness Month. Though the national health observance is in May, the university chooses October to promote mental health awareness as the need for mental health support on campus peaks during this time.   

Abby and Nate Bergdorf are both attending Â鶹ӰԺ State and majoring in hospitality.

Siblings Abby and Nate Bergdorf followed their family legacy when they both enrolled at Â鶹ӰԺ State, but they have taken the family ties a bit further.
