Miriam Matteson, Ph.D., School of Information, co-presented a session titled “Promoting Neutrality or Privilege? Academic Libraries and Critical Librarianship” at the Academic Library Association of Ohio (ALAO) annual conference in Wilmington, Ohio, on Oct. 28, 2016. 

Marcia Lei Zeng, Ph.D., School of Information, was co-presenter and facilitator of a half-day workshop titled “Building Curriculum for Linked Data Education” on Oct. 15, 2016, at the DCMI International Conference on Dublin Core and Metadata Applications in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Lala Hajibayova, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, co-authored a poster titled “Representation of Kanaka Maoli (Hawai’ian) Culture: A Case of Hula Dance,” which was presented on Oct. 17, 2016, at the President’s Reception and Poster Session of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) annual conference in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Marcia Lei Zeng, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, co-presented a session titled “Competency-Based Discovery for Learning Linked Data,” Special Session #5, on Oct. 14, 2016, at the DCMI International Conference on Dublin Core and Metadata Applications in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Miriam Matteson, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, co-presented (with Kara Reuter) “Real World Assessment: Using Data to Evaluate Library Products and Services” at the Ohio Library Council annual conference on Sept. 29, 2016, in Sandusky, Ohio.

Lala Hajibayova, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, was invited to become an associate member of the Caucasus Research Resource Centers’ Network of Researchers in Social Sciences ().

Richard Feinberg, Ph.D., Department of Anthropology, delivered a presentation titled “Behaviorist Ethics in Polynesia: Anuta, Solomon Islands” at the Central States Anthropological Society in Lincoln, Nebraska, on April 8, 2017. In addition to this paper, Feinberg was a presenter in a roundtable dealing with ethical conundrums in anthropology, chaired a session on gender and performance, served as discussant on a panel dealing with the globalization of food, contributed to the society’s Executive Board meeting and reported to its business meeting on developments at the national level in the American Anthropological Association.

Belinda Boon, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, presented a session titled “Online Learning is for EVERYONE: Using Universal Design Principles to Develop Accessible Online Learning Content” at the Lilly Conference for Evidence-Based Teaching and Learning in Austin, Texas, on Jan. 5, 2017. 

Athena Salaba, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, presented a poster titled “User Testing of Prototype Systems in Two Different Environments: Preliminary Results” at the 18th International Conference on Asia-Pacific Digital Libraries, ICADL 2016, Tsukuba, Japan, Dec. 7-9, 2016. Rebecca Meehan, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, delivered a poster presentation titled “Developing Standards for Usability in Electronic Health Records: Challenges and Opportunities” at the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) annual meeting in Chicago on Nov. 15, 2016.
