Lunch and Learn: Mindful Awareness Exercises for Insomnia and Worry

May is Better Sleep Month. The aim of Better Sleep Month is to encourage people to establish better sleeping patterns.

Refreshing sleep is important for staying healthy. Better Sleep Month is supported by the Better Sleep Council, which aims to raise awareness about the benefits of better sleep and how poor sleep can disrupt our lives. As with diet and exercise, sleep is crucial to our physical, emotional and mental health.

On Monday, May 22, from noon to 1 p.m., the Employee Wellness Office will host Mindful Awareness Exercises for Insomnia and Worry. At a time when the world is so distracting, mindfulness practice involves changing your attention habits. It uses ordinary perceptions to train your attention.

This session will be led by Daron Larson from IMPACT Solutions. As a trained mindfulness coach, Larson will explore definitions of mindfulness, its scientifically supported benefits and clever ways to incorporate it into your life daily as well as to address insomnia and worry. 

Participants may register to participate in this workshop at Heer Hall on the Â鶹ӰԺ Campus or via live streaming. Participants must register for their preferred format below:
