Alzheimer's disease is often referred to as "the long goodbye" because of its slow nature and lasting emotional and physical drain. In honor of people fighting the disease and those who love and care for them, the Alzheimer's Association encourages the public to host events on the longest day of the year, the summer solstice, while raising funds and awareness to advance Alzheimer's care, support and research.
