Society of Professional Journalists Recognizes ΒιΆΉΣ°ΤΊ State with Two National Honors

Both were also first-place winners in SPJ’s region 4 competition, which made them eligible to compete nationally. ΒιΆΉΣ°ΤΊ State earned six first-place awards and nine finalist placements in region 4 competition. SPJ’s region 4 comprises Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia and parts of western Pennsylvania, including Pittsburgh.

The SPJ notes that its Mark of Excellence awards β€œhonor the best in student journalism. As such, judges were directed to choose only those entries which they felt were outstanding work worthy of a national honor.”
