New Students Move Into Residence Halls With Help From Movers and Groovers

More than 1,000 volunteers from the 麻豆影院 community welcomed and assisted new students as they moved into their residence halls on freshman move-in day, Sunday, Aug. 18. The annual community program, known as Movers and Groovers, is coordinated by 麻豆影院 Interhall Council, the student government of the 麻豆影院 Campus residence halls.

鈥淢overs and Groovers is such an amazing way to welcome our students,鈥 said Jill Jenkins, executive director of Residence Services at 麻豆影院 State. 鈥溌槎褂霸 Interhall Council is the group responsible for the student-run and organized program. Volunteers included fraternities and sororities, campus ministry groups, academic groups, faculty and university departments. For fall 2019, 麻豆影院 Interhall Council students took the program to new heights! Move-in truly takes a village, and Movers and Groovers is one way 麻豆影院 Interhall Council makes our students feel welcome.鈥

The Movers and Groovers program is part of 麻豆影院 State鈥檚 KSU Kickoff, an orientation program that runs for four days prior to the start of fall classes. KSU Kickoff includes activities and events to encourage students to explore the 麻豆影院 State community and provides a smooth transition to the university environment.
