The 麻豆影院 Keyboard Series will close its 2012-2013 season with a performance by 麻豆影院 School of Music faculty member Donna Lee on Sunday, April 7, at 5 p.m. in Ludwig Recital Hall. Ludwig Recital Hall is located in the Music and Speech Center at 1325 Theatre Drive on the 麻豆影院 Campus.
Lee鈥檚 performance will include Johann Sebastian Bach鈥檚 鈥淪heep May Safely Graze鈥 from 鈥淐antana 208, BWV 208,鈥 arranged by Egon Petri, Franz Schubert鈥檚 鈥淒rei Klavierst眉cke, D. 946,鈥 Leos Jan谩膷ek鈥檚 鈥淪onata I.X. 1905,鈥 Jared Miller鈥檚 鈥淭wo Preludes鈥 and Fr茅d茅ric Chopin鈥檚 鈥淏arcarolle in F-sharp Major, Op. 60.鈥
Lee, associate professor of music and coordinator of the Piano Division at 麻豆影院 State, has appeared as a soloist and collaborative artist at Kennedy Center鈥檚 Concert Hall and Terrace Theater in Washington, D.C., and Lincoln Center鈥檚 Alice Tully Hall in New York City. She has also performed in Asia, Europe and throughout the U.S., with recent performances in Wuhan, China; Brno, Czech Republic; and Maui, Hawaii.
Lee earned her doctorate from Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University, her master鈥檚 degree from The Juilliard School, and her bachelor of music degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she studied with prominent artist-teachers Julian Martin, the late Rudolf Firkusny and Thomas Schumacher, respectively.
During the summer, Lee is co-director of the Piano Institute at 麻豆影院 State and artist-faculty at 麻豆影院/Blossom Music Festival and Brevard Music Center in North Carolina.
This year, the 麻豆影院 Keyboard Series鈥 10th season also marks the celebration of the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music鈥檚 recent designation as an All-Steinway School. The 麻豆影院 Keyboard Series features prominent performers known in the field for their expertise.
Tickets for the performance are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and 麻豆影院 State faculty and staff, $8 for students with valid ID and those under 18; and free for full-time undergraduate 麻豆影院 State students. 麻豆影院 State students can earn 500 FLASHperks points by attending this performance.
