Acclaimed singer and songwriter Jewel will perform solo and acoustic at the Performing Arts Center at 麻豆影院 at Tuscarawas on June 14.Tickets for the Jewel Greatest Hits Tour performance range from $46 - $66 and are now on sale. Tickets can be purchased at the Performing Arts Center box office, online at by calling 330-308-6400. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free parking is available for all shows.

A few of Jewel鈥檚 hits include 鈥淲ho Will Save Your Soul,鈥 鈥淵ou Were Meant for Me鈥 and 鈥淔oolish Games.鈥 Her insightful love ballad, 鈥淪atisfied,鈥 received a Grammy nomination for Best Female Country Vocal Performance. 

Among Jewel鈥檚 many accolades are four Grammy Award nominations, an American Music Award and an MTV Video Music Award. In 1999, she was presented the prestigious Governors Award from the Los Angeles chapter of the Recording Academy (NARAS). The award, now known as the Recording Academy Honors award, recognizes those whose creative talents and accomplishments have crossed all musical boundaries and have been recognized as an asset to our music community.

From the remote ranch of her Alaskan youth to the triumph of international stardom, Jewel, hailed by The New York Times as a 鈥渟ongwriter bursting with talents,鈥 has enjoyed career longevity rare among her generation of artists. Whether alone with her guitar or fronting a band of ace musicians, Jewel has always been a charismatic live performer, earning the respect of other singer-songwriters such as Merle Haggard, Bob Dylan and Neil Young, who, not only invited her to open their shows, but mentored her in the early phases of her career. Her singular style and beauty continuously land her on the covers of such diverse magazines as Time, People, Entertainment Weekly, Vanity Fair, In Style, Glamour and Seventeen. Stuff listed her among its 鈥102 Sexiest Women in the World鈥 while Blender went further, crowning her 鈥渞ock鈥檚 sexiest poet.鈥

In 2011, Jewel and her husband Ty Murray welcomed baby Kase Townes to the world. Soon after, the singer released The Merry Goes 鈥橰ound, her second children鈥檚 album with Fisher-Price庐 and Somerset Entertainment. The album, written while pregnant and inspired by Kase, appeals to kids and parents alike and includes more than 15 songs and four classics, such as 鈥淭he Green Grass Grows All Around鈥 and 鈥淢y Favorite Things,鈥 plus new whimsical Jewel story-telling originals. The album was named iTunes Children鈥檚 Album of the Year in 2011.

In September 2012, Jewel released a picture book and CD based on a song from The Merry Goes 鈥楻ound. The book, That鈥檚 What I鈥檇 Do, is perfect for bedtime sharing again-and-again. In addition, Jewel is portraying June Carter Cash in the Lifetime movie based on Cash鈥檚 life. The film is due to be released this year.
