While stress is a normal part of life, especially during the holidays, how we handle it either improves our quality of life or impairs it. The Dec. 6 Lunch and Learn will look at the different types of stressors that exist and the physical, emotional and mental impact they can have on your life. Participants will also learn about effective and ineffective coping skills to deal with stress.
The program, which includes a complimentary lunch, will begin at noon in the first floor Food Lab of Nixson Hall. The presenter will be Thomas O鈥橰eilly, a licensed professional clinical counselor who works with Lakeshore Educational and Counseling Services. He is also a clinical screener at Portage Path Behavioral Healthcare Psychiatric Emergency Services.
The Lunch and Learn programs are sponsored by the Division of Human Resources and are held in conjunction with Impact, the university鈥檚 employee assistance program. The hour-long programs are free and open to faculty and staff. However, seating is limited and reservations are required. .
