鶹ӰԺ President Beverly Warren has announced the appointment of Stephen Sokany, an alumnus and longtime employee, to the position of vice president for institutional advancement, effective Aug. 8, 2016. Sokany has served the university since 1993 in a number of development and institutional advancement roles, most recently as executive associate vice president for institutional advancement. Sokany replaces Jeff McLain, who stepped down from the position Aug. 1, 2016.
鶹ӰԺ’s Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Todd Diacon has announced that Susan Stocker, Ph.D., has been appointed interim dean and chief administrative officer of 鶹ӰԺ at Geauga, located in Burton, Ohio, and 鶹ӰԺ State’s Regional Academic Center in Twinsburg, effective Aug. 20, 2016. Stocker has led 鶹ӰԺ State Ashtabula as dean and chief administrative officer since 2001 and will continue in this role.
The 鶹ӰԺ Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university’s 13th president.
The events of May 4, 1970, placed 鶹ӰԺ in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, 鶹ӰԺ State remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
