What was once an old, abandoned woodshed on the Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº Campus from the early 1900s eventually evolved into a controversial and well-known piece of art.
Denise A. Seachrist, Ph.D., of Rootstown, Ohio, has been selected to serve as dean and chief administrative officer of Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº at Stark, located in North Canton, Ohio. Seachrist has served as interim dean of Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State Stark, the only public university in Stark County and the largest Regional Campus of Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State, since July 1, 2014. She began serving as the permanent dean on Feb. 1, 2016.
Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº is introducing a Cooperative Education program for students of all majors at all Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State campuses.
The Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº Women’s Center in the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will celebrate its 20th anniversary during the 2016-17 school year. The Women’s Center, formerly called the Women’s Resource Center, was established in 1996 following a recommendation from a university stakeholder committee to former Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State President Carol A. Cartwright.

Do you have school spirit? The Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº Alumni Association is looking for motivated and enthusiastic faculty and staff members from every campus to serve on the 2016 Homecoming Committee.
The 10th annual Main Street Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº Art and Wine Festival will take place Saturday, June 4, from noon-10 p.m. in downtown Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº. Proceeds will benefit Main Street Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº, the nonprofit organization dedicated to the revitalization of downtown Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº. The Art and Wine Festival features local artists, live entertainment and wineries from all over Ohio.

From getting deployed to Afghanistan to being unable to pay for classes, starting a family and even accepting a job at a winery in southern Germany. The reasons for leaving Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº before completing a bachelor’s degree fall across a wide spectrum for some students.

Since 2008, Jill Lahrmer, assistant professor in Â鶹ӰԺ’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design, has consistently shared her passion for interior design with her students.

Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº held its 14th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Jan. 28 in the Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº Student Center Ballroom. The keynote speaker for the event was Joy-Ann Reid, national correspondent for MSNBC. The commemorative event also recognized the 2016 recipients of Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State’s Diversity Trailblazer Award, which honors diversity pioneers associated with Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State, and Unity Award for Diversity, which recognizes the contributions of any Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State unit that demonstrates significant contributions in the areas of diversity, equity, and/or inclusion.
The Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university’s 13th president.
The events of May 4, 1970, placed Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, Âé¶¹Ó°Ôº State remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
