Spring semester will see the continuation of construction on and around the �鶹ӰԺ Campus, so do not be surprised to see traffic cones and construction fences. Below is a brief update on the major construction projects that may impact your travel. 

You are invited to nominate a �鶹ӰԺ faculty member for the 2016 Outstanding Research and Scholarship Award. Sponsored by the University Research Council and the Division of Research and Sponsored Programs, this award is intended to honor �鶹ӰԺ State’s exceptional researchers and scholars. The awardees will be selected based on the quality of research and scholarship and its impact on society. A ceremony and reception will be held on Thursday, April 19, at 4 p.m. as part of Faculty Appreciation Week. 

Individuals who need help in preparing their 2015 income tax return may be eligible for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program at �鶹ӰԺ. A national program, VITA offers tax preparation assistance to low- to moderate-income taxpayers.  The service is free to students, employees and community members who meet the eligibility requirements.

As we begin the new semester, the Office of the University Registrar asks for your assistance in making sure that all students are properly registered for their spring 2016 courses.

�鶹ӰԺ’s College of Podiatric Medicine will celebrate its centennial anniversary in 2016. Located in Independence, Ohio, it is one of nine accredited podiatry colleges in the United States and is a four-year, graduate-level medical college, granting the degree of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine.

The new year always brings new resolutions, such as improved health and fitness. The Division of Human Resources and its wellness partners offer a host of wellness initiatives, such as Weight Watchers at Work, yoga, stress management workshops and more.

�鶹ӰԺ will hold its 14th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration on Jan. 28 at 4 p.m. in the �鶹ӰԺ Student Center Ballroom. The keynote speaker for the event is Joy-Ann Reid, national correspondent for MSNBC and author. 

By combining an enthusiastic personality, relevant real-world experience and entertaining pop culture videos, �鶹ӰԺ’s Mary Bacha has become a favorite among students in the College of Nursing and was named one of this year’s Outstanding Teaching Award recipients.

Six international teams compete for the prize of Best Dish at this year's International cook-off competition.

Virginia A. Dressler, University Libraries, presented “Beyond Google Analytics: Using the 'Toolkit for the Impact of Digitised Scholarly Resources' to Embed Metrics and Gauge Use of Regional Digital Collections” at the Association for Information Science and Technology annual meeting in St. Louis, Missouri, on Nov. 7, 2015.
