Christine Hudak, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, has been accepted as a contributing author to the book (tentatively) titled The Handbook of Continuing Professional Development for the Health IT Professional, to be published by HIMSS in 2017. Her chapter, “The Many Facets of Continuing Education,” will appear in the section on “The Importance of Lifelong Learning.”

鶹ӰԺ’s Division of Information Services, in collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs, has completely redesigned the appearance and functionality of FlashLine. The new FlashLine was launched on July 13.
鶹ӰԺ will be celebrating the 17th annual International Education Week from Nov. 14-18. In past years, the weeklong celebration has featured numerous internationally oriented events, including concerts, dance lessons, academic lectures, presentations and exhibitions hosted by student groups, academic departments and campus offices, as well as individual faculty members.
A new organization called Spectrum: Connecting Queer and Ally Faculty and Staff has been launched to provide support and a social community at 鶹ӰԺ. Supported by 鶹ӰԺ State’s Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, the organization encourages all faculty and staff who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, gender non-binary, queer, questioning, pansexual, polysexual, asexual, or any other sexual or gender identity and anyone who is an ally to the queer community to join.
The Schwartz Center (R12) and 鶹ӰԺ Student Center Visitor parking lots that were closed for construction this summer will be open today, Monday, Aug. 29, as the 2016 Fall Semester begins. The R10 lot between Lake Hall and the Memorial Athletic and Convocation (MAC) Center also is open.
鶹ӰԺ President Beverly Warren recently presented 14 鶹ӰԺ State faculty members with the President’s Faculty Excellence Award, which recognizes exceptional performance that leads to the achievement of national or international recognition.
Beginning fall 2016, Stark State College students with an Associate Degree in Nursing (A.D.N.) and their state license can earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) degree at 鶹ӰԺ at Stark through an articulation agreement signed this summer.
鶹ӰԺ State’s Dining Services to Launch Online Meal Ordering Service, Announces Other Updates for Fall
鶹ӰԺ’s Dining Services has partnered with Tapingo to enable students, faculty and staff to order their meals online, pay electronically via their meal plan or credit card and request a pickup time.
The 鶹ӰԺ Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university’s 13th president.
The events of May 4, 1970, placed 鶹ӰԺ in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, 鶹ӰԺ State remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
