Instructor to be Featured Speaker at Tedx麻豆影院State

Speaker Says Young People Have Power to Solve Problems Related to Sexual Harassment, Dating Violence

Pamela Harr, an adjunct professor in the 麻豆影院 School of Communication Studies, will be a featured speaker at the second annual .

Hosted by the 麻豆影院 State , the TEDx event is themed 鈥淧ale Blue Dot,鈥 referencing the smallness of the Earth but the importance of its history, passions, lessons and potential for the future even in 鈥渢he grand ethos of the universe.鈥

Over four hours, the TEDx event will feature four sessions with a total of 12 , each emphasizing a topic related to the purpose of life; social change; and the different ambiances, cultures or experiences from around the world. 

Harr will speak in the final session, where she will talk about how sexual harassment, dating violence and sexual assault are all problems that young people can solve. In her talk, Harr will discuss a system of that is being used nationally that can help prevent and bring more awareness to these issues.

Besides her work at 麻豆影院 State, Harr teaches high school English and Women鈥檚 Studies and Literature. She also serves on the advisory board for in Portage County. 

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 in the 麻豆影院 Student Center Ballroom. Tickets are available . Student seats are $10; all others are $15.
