Tim graduated from Â鶹ӰԺ in 1977 with a B.S. in Zoology and Pre-Medicine Studies. He is a graduate of the Medical College of Ohio. He obtained his pediatric training (residency) at Emory University Hospitals (Atlanta) and pediatric cardiology training (fellowship) at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. He was the Medical Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Texas Children’s Hospital until 2001 when he was recruited to be the chief of Pediatric Cardiology and co-director of the Heart Center at Nationwide Children’s Hospital and Professor of Pediatrics (now Emeritus) at The Ohio State University (2001-18). During Dr. Feltes’ tenure the program was a perennial US News and World Report Top 10 program.  Dr. Feltes has held numerous national leadership positions including the American College of Cardiology Chair of the Adult Congenital and Pediatric Cardiology Section (2017-20), American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) Cardiology Sub-board Committee member (2007-12, Chair 2010-12), ABP Board of Directors (2013-15) including Executive Committee (2014-15) and Joint Council on Congenital Heart Disease member (2010-13, 2017-20, president 2012-13). He has published over 80 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters and has served as a principal investigator for two of the largest international clinical trials conducted in children with congenital heart disease. He has given over 150 visiting lectureships across the globe.  He has been an Editor of the textbook Heart Disease in Infants, Children, and Adolescents (Wolters & Kluwer, Editions 7 through 10) which is the principal textbook in the field of congenital heart disease. He has received lifetime achievement awards from The Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society and from Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and Society of Pediatric Research. He received the 2020 Â鶹ӰԺ Alumni Professional Achievement Award. Dr. Feltes lives with his wife Tami and two dogs in Asheville, North Carolina where he enjoys hiking and bicycling. He and Tami have two daughters, Cory, and Josey.
