Bill Hoover

Amid the tremendous cultural change unfolding in the early 1970s, Bill Hoover, ’71, co-founded the Â鶹ӰԺ Gay Liberation Front with Dr. Dolores Noll and Gail Pertz, to foster a community for LGBTQ+ individuals and their supporters.

Ivana Krsteska

After spending her younger years in a variety of volunteer roles with non-governmental organizations in her native Macedonia, Ivana Krsteska chose Â鶹ӰԺ State to study sustainable architecture and also serves as a Â鶹ӰԺ Student Ambassador.

Â鶹ӰԺ State Salem nursing students visit the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota each year as part of a study away experience. As they immerse themselves in the Oglala Lakota Sioux Tribe, they embark on a journey of cultural understanding.

Senior Delonte Goodman spent the summer working under the direction of mentor Tony Jakli, Ph.D., professor at the Liquid Crystal Institute and graduate student Alex Adaka conducting dielectric measurements for ferronematic liquid crystals.

Â鶹ӰԺ State’s Office of Admissions is seeing its hard work, creativity and strategic planning pay off by way of increased engagement and an elevated level of interest in the university. 

Â鶹ӰԺ State grad Josh Budd, teaches at Stow-Munroe Falls Schools

Honors College ranked high when graduate Josh Budd was deciding whether to attend Â鶹ӰԺ State because it offered him a challenging experience through its thesis programs and its education-abroad program. Studying abroad helped him develop more empathy and connection with people of backgrounds different from his own. 

Â鶹ӰԺ State Ashtabula

Â鶹ӰԺ at Ashtabula has announced its Dean’s List and President’s List for the Spring 2023 semester. 

Requirements for the Dean’s List include a 3.40 grade point average or above for the semester and at least 12 letter-graded (A, B, etc.) credit hours completed by the end of the semester.

President’s List criteria are a 4.00 grade point and at least 15 letter-graded credit hours completed by the end of the semester.

From studying architecture to pursuing a career in the nonprofit sector, Lillian Kuri, BS ’93, BARC ’94, credits her experience and education at Â鶹ӰԺ State for her foundation as a dynamic leader.
