Jennifer Kramer, College of Communication and Information, has been named a recipient of the “30 for the Future” award by the Greater Akron Chamber. The award honors young professionals, between ages 25-39, for their stellar contributions that impact their industries in the Greater Akron region.

�鶹ӰԺ College of Nursing research faculty members Pamela Stephenson, Ph.D., RN, AOCNS, Dana Hansen, Ph.D., ACHPN, APRN, and Denice Sheehan, Ph.D. MSN, RN, presented their palliative care research findings at Hospice of the Western Reserve's annual conference “Telling the Stories: The Deeper Voice of Hospice” on Friday, Sept. 16.

Marianne Martens, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, chaired the 2017 Notable Children's Recordings Committee for the Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC). 

Marcia Lei Zeng, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, was the invited keynote speaker at the 104th Academic Year Union Conference of the Academic Library Directors held on May 5 and 6 at National United University at Miaoli, Taiwan.

Christine Hudak, Ph.D., School of Library and Information Science, gave an invited presentation titled “Action Research: What Is It and How Do I Do It?” at the 12th Annual Nursing Research Conference sponsored by the Cleveland Clinic in May 2016.

Lae'l Hughes-Watkins, University Libraries’ Department of Special Collections and Archives, presented “Activism in the Archives: How the Acquisition of a Collection Is Influencing Relationships With Diverse Populations and Stimulating Collaborative Relationships for Instructional Design” at the National Diversity Library Conference in Los Angeles, California, on Aug. 11, 2016.

Trevor Watkins and Feng-Ru Sheu, University Libraries, presented “Open Knowledge Diffusion Tools: FOSS, OER, OT, MOOC and the Role of the Library in Mitigating the Social Inertia of Constrained Learning Environments” at the IFLA World Library and Information Congress: 82nd IFLA General Conference and Assembly in Columbus, Ohio, on Aug. 16, 2016.
