Professor Johan Galtung one of the principal founders of peace studies, passed away on February 17, 2024 at age 93. For over seven decades, he had championed the cause of building the field of peace and conflict research, education, and practice. His pioneering contributions have empowered and inspired researchers, educators, students, civil society actors, and policymakers around the world to find ways to overcome violence of different forms and work toward a sustainable peace. This webinar will highlight the lasting impacts of Professor Galtung鈥檚 seminal works from the perspectives of the four panelists. It will also explore how peace researchers, educators, and practitioners can build on his works to meet the distinct challenges of our time.
