2024 Theme: Native American Legacies: Stories of Strength and Survival

The focus of this year鈥檚 theme is appreciating and honoring Native American culture by those who are and who are not Indigenous. The theme, 鈥淣ative American Legacies: Stories of Strength and Survival鈥 is about gathering, listening, and sharing the legacies of Indigenous peoples, past, present, and future. For many decades, Indigenous peoples had to live in secret for fear of retaliation and oppression and survived many horrors. Now, we strive to share these stories of strength and survival to emphasize that 鈥淲e are still here鈥. An important aspect of these stories is the 7 Grandfather Teachings, seven teachings that encompass the values of many Indigenous tribes, guiding us towards the future.
