The words  β€œdiversity,”  β€œequity” and β€œinclusion” are all terms that are oftentimes used interchangeably when referring to social justice within the workplace; however, each serves an essential role in the development of a truly equal and prosperous society.

Albert Green, Ph.D., director of Technology Commercialization in the Division of Research and Sponsored Programs and CEO of AMG Consulting Group, continuously works to ensure that the innovation ecosystem of the Greater Cleveland area represents the truest form of equity and most favorable environment for its continued success.

Recently, Green contributed an article to Crain’s Cleveland Business championing this very concept.

β€œThis isn’t just a topic for the underrepresented population, but for everyone within the system,” Green said. β€œEveryone has a role to play in creating a level playing field.”

Successful entrepreneurs and business leaders from diverse backgrounds and walks of life work in unison to stimulate the economy and promote inclusion in the Greater Cleveland area. Also known as the innovation ecosystem, this is an environment that provides multiple support services to entrepreneurs who are starting businesses or commercializing technologies.

Establishments, companies and businesses flourish when collaboration brings about many different perspectives. The incorporation of DE&I within the evolving industries help ensure vibrant growth in Northeast Ohio.

Working closely with Cleveland Innovation Project (CIP), Green has been a leader in elevating KSU’s activities as well as bringing DE&I to the forefront of the discussions.

β€œIt’s not enough to only encourage the progression of underrepresented populations nor is it enough to merely tolerate a diversified society,” said Green. β€œWe need to take steps that will ensure the inclusion of everyone.”
