CHW Training Program by the Numbers

  • 200+ students started the CHW program between Fall 2020 and Fall 2024
  • $650,000 in funding received from the HealthPath Foundation of Ohio and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) through MetroHealth Medical Center
  • More than 50 local partners, including: Cleveland Clinic, Summa Health, Akron Children's Hospital, Mercy Health, Youngstown City Health District, Mahoning County Health Department, Portage County Health District, Community Action Akron Summit, Oriana House, North Coast Community Homes, Planned Parenthood, AxessPointe

  • 15,860 hours of service in the community 
  • Ohio Counties Served

    12 counties served: Ashtabula, Columbiana, Cuyahoga, Franklin, Holmes, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Wayne. 

  • 84.4% students are highly satisfied or satisfied with the KSU CHW training program internship 
  • 96% students are highly satisfied or satisfied with the KSU CHW training program teachers 
  • 80.4% students are highly satisfied or satisfied with the support for applying for certification 
  • 82.3% students are highly satisfied or satisfied with support for feeling ready for a job 
  • 68% students are highly satisfied or satisfied for support for finding a job.
