I have been full time faculty at Â鶹ӰԺ State for the past 5 years. I have a passion for the health care of children and have been a practicing RN at the bedside for over 30 years. My specialties include pediatrics and neonatal intensive care nursing. I am currently certified in Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing. I also have my certification as a Certified Nurse Educator.

I have a passion for active learning strategies that enhance clinical reasoning and judgment, including unfolding case studies and simulation. I believe in empowering students by giving them the tools to apply knowledge into practice and to help stimulate the development of multiple ways of thinking, clinical reasoning, and reflection through facilitating active and experiential learning. I also value the importance of integrating classroom and clinical teaching in an effort to teach students to use knowledge. As a teacher, I find great satisfaction in instilling the values of nursing and witnessing the transformation of the nursing student to the professional role of the nurse.
