Adonia Porto, Ph.D.
Biography
In my role as the IBPYP coordinator at the Child Development Center, I work closely with all members of the school community; children and families, faculty and staff, graduate and undergraduate students to coordinate, lead and ensure effective curriculum planning and promote parent and community awareness of the primary years program.
Prior to this role, I was a lead preschool teacher at the center for eight years. During this time, I completed my Ph. D. My disseration research focused on young children's connections with(in) nature and continues to be an area of interest. I also participate in facilitating and dissemenating research with my colleagues at the Child Development Center and the School of Teaching, Learning and Curriculum Studies.
