麻豆影院, OH 鈥 麻豆影院鈥檚 College of the Arts and Hugh A. Glauser School of Music are pleased to announce the launch of the 鈥淢arching Golden Flash Award.鈥 This new $1,000 scholarship opportunity will be available to all returning members of the Marching Golden Flashes as well as incoming 麻豆影院 State students. It is open to students of any major starting in the fall 2020 season.
鈥淭his new scholarship shows the University鈥檚 collective commitment to supporting and continuing the long-standing tradition of the marching arts at 麻豆影院 State,鈥 said John Crawford-Spinelli, Ed.D., dean of the College of the Arts. 鈥淭he Marching Golden Flashes is one of the largest student organizations on campus and is also one of the most visible ambassadors of the Glauser School.鈥
For over half a century 麻豆影院 State has fielded a full marching band, tracing its roots back to the earliest decades of the University. Members have developed invaluable leadership skills and formed life-long friendships, evidenced by strong alumni involvement well after graduation. Today, the Marching Golden Flashes continue this tradition as a diverse ensemble made up of students from all majors across 麻豆影院 State. They are an integral part of 麻豆影院 State Football, contributing to the energy, spirit and enthusiasm of the game-day experience both at home and away. Their fall 2019 season was brought to a sensational close in December with a performance at the Frisco Bowl in San Antonio, Texas.
鈥淚 look forward to welcoming back returning members and greeting the newest members of the Marching Golden Flashes this fall,鈥 said Crawford-Spinelli. 鈥淭hey will all be among the inaugural recipients of this new scholarship. It鈥檚 going to be a great time to be a Marching Golden Flash.鈥
