Gamifying Business Analytics: Leveling Up Student Learning

The use of gamified learning has increased within the educational community over the last decade in an attempt to enhance student learning in multiple ways. Gamification involves integrating gaming-principles into non-game settings like education to engage people, motivate action, promote learning, and solve problems. Gamification elements draw on human needs to collect, compete and succeed. In designing the Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) online degree program, the group activities are being gamified to promote competition and collaboration. During the presentation we will discuss the integration of design principles and student-centered learning to create a gamified course to assist MSBA students in their data driven decision-making.
