Meet Tess Gladstone, a Reuter Graduate Fellowship Fund recipient. Tess is a Psychological Sciences Ph.D. student majoring in Clinical Psychology.
Please give a short overview of your research:
My research focuses on child and adolescent anxiety and comorbid symptoms. Specifically, I examine risk factors for the development of anxiety as well as the barriers to the implementation and dissemination of evidence based treatments.
What made you choose to pursue your graduate degree here at 麻豆影院 State?
I was thrilled to join 麻豆影院 State鈥檚 clinical psychology program, grounded in a research practitioner model, it emphasizes training strong researchers and clinicians. I have been immensely grateful for the opportunity to work with my mentor, Christopher Flessner, in his .
What do you enjoy most about attending 麻豆影院 State for graduate school?
麻豆影院 State has provided me with the opportunity to meet and work with brilliant colleagues who are motivated, passionate, and driven to effect change. I have especially enjoyed the friendly atmosphere within the department as well as the opportunity for community collaborations. The best tacos within walking distance of lab don鈥檛 hurt either!
What are your future goals?
My dissertation work will be focused on addressing the disconnect between best practices for treating anxiety and what is in common use. I hope through my research and practice, to aid in the mission of increasing access to evidence based care, especially in youth with anxiety.
What does this award mean to you and how will it aid you?
I am extremely grateful and honored to receive the Jeanette and Louis Reuter Fellowship which will support my dissertation research to seek to understand barriers to the implementation and dissemination of evidence-based practice for anxiety across development.
