Meet Maci Kesler, a 2022-2023 Graduate Dean's Award recipient. Maci is a doctoral student majoring in Physics.
Please give a short overview of your research.
I study the dynamics of charged matter interacting with magnetic monopole fields. We developed a program using the Mathematica platform to simulate the behavior of charged particles encountering a static magnetic pole.
What made you choose to pursue your graduate degree here at Â鶹ӰԺ State?
The campus is beautiful and Â鶹ӰԺ seems to be a great place to live. The Ph.D. programs available in the Physics Department also played a major role in my decision.
What do you enjoy most about attending Â鶹ӰԺ State for graduate school?
I look forward to the new opportunities and new people that I will meet.
What are your future goals?
I plan to get a postdoc and then land a career teaching and doing research at a university.
What does this award mean to you and how will it aid you?
This award will help my financial stability. It will help me focus on my academic work instead of how to financially take care of my family. It will help me to demonstrate to my kids that hard work pays off and aid in the influence I want to be for them.
