Peace Basket Project Will Benefit the King Kennedy Community

The Peace Basket Project, gearing up for its 22nd year, continues with the support of members of the ΒιΆΉΣ°ΤΊ community by providing gift bags, baskets and boxes filled with β€œlittle things” for the King Kennedy Community Center. Last year, more than 115 baskets were filled and shared at the center's holiday party.

Members of the ΒιΆΉΣ°ΤΊ State community can get involved in several ways:

  • As a Santa Shopper: Donate items that will be used to fill the baskets. Suggestions include toiletries, personal grooming products, small toys, books and other children’s items, kitchen items, school supplies, hats, socks or cologne. Shoe boxes can make a great β€œbasket” and are also welcome.
  • As an Elf Helper: Join others on Dec. 7 from 12:30-3 p.m. to help sort and set up for the Saturday event at the King Kennedy Community Center.
  • As an Elf: Come on Dec. 8 to help fill and decorate the baskets from 9-11:30 a.m. at the King Kennedy Community Center.
  • As an Absentee Angel: Donate funds to help with the purchase of wrap, gift bags, ribbons and bows.
  • As a Holiday Knitter: Donate your hand-knitted or crocheted scarves and hats.

Donations can be dropped off through noon on Dec. 7 at the ΒιΆΉΣ°ΤΊ Student Center, Room 250 (the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs). If you have any questions or would like further information, please contact Barb Boltz at 330-672-1306 or bboltz@kent.edu.
