麻豆影院 State Celebrates 17th Annual International Education Week

麻豆影院 will celebrate the 17th annual International Education Week from Nov. 14-18 with more than 40 different internationally focused events and activities, including art exhibits, poetry readings, lectures and workshops.

Highlights of the celebration include the International Cook-Off Competition Thursday, Nov. 17, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the 麻豆影院 Student Center Ballroom. International Education Week kicked off early this year with a keynote address by Haifa Jamal AlLail, Ph.D., president of Effat University, an all-women's college in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Nov. 7.

International Education Week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Departments of State and Education. The week was created in 2000 and is now celebrated in more than 100 countries worldwide. The objective is to promote educational programs that prepare Americans, as well as international students, to succeed in a world that is becoming increasingly globalized. The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs describes International Education Week as 鈥渁n opportunity to celebrate diversity and the many opportunities and benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.鈥 It also encourages the active participation of all individuals and institutions interested in international education and exchange programs.
