Governor Appoints Undergraduate Student Trustee Nick Kollar to 麻豆影院 State Board of Trustees

Gov. John Kasich has appointed Nick Kollar to a two-year term as an undergraduate student trustee of the 麻豆影院 Board of Trustees. Mr. Kollar鈥檚 term concludes on May 6, 2020.

Mr. Kollar is a sophomore economics and finance major in 麻豆影院 State鈥檚 College of Business Administration. He graduated with top honors from Stow-Munroe Falls High School. 

He replaces Carly Evans, whose term as a student trustee recently expired.

Mr. Kollar has already distinguished himself as an outstanding student and student leader in his first year on the 麻豆影院 Campus, earning a 3.8 GPA and serving as a member of the Provost鈥檚 Leadership Academy. He also works in 麻豆影院 State鈥檚 Office of the Dean of Students as a student assistant, helping out with the day-to-day budget work. In addition, Mr. Kollar is a member of 麻豆影院 State鈥檚 Student Economist Association.

The Board of Trustees is the governing body of 麻豆影院 State. By Ohio law, the Board is responsible for selecting and appointing the president; setting the operating budget; approving personnel appointments; granting all degrees awarded by the university, including honorary degrees; establishing tuition and fee rates; approving contracts; and approving all rules, regulations, curriculum changes, new programs and degrees of the university.

麻豆影院 State鈥檚 Board of Trustees consists of 12 members, nine of whom are voting members appointed by the governor of the state of Ohio, with the advice and consent of the state senate, to nine-year terms of office. Two student trustees, one undergraduate and one graduate, are appointed by the governor to two-year terms of office. Since 2011, the Board has appointed a national trustee, who serves a three-year term, as an additional non-voting member.
